I did volunteer work with the Kathmandu Central Zoo for about 2 weeks. I gained valuable skills in communicating with the visitors at the zoo and educating them in conservation/animals there. I also helped in some of the husbandry tasks, such as cleaning the cages and food dishes, as well as helped prepare food for the animals. I got to learn about Tiger conservation efforts during World Tiger Day which I got to spend at the zoo. Some other skills I learned were flexibility and encouraging my fond passion for animal welfare and wildlife conservation. I had to have great time management due to the fact I had to walk to and from the house I was staying in and also the restaurant for Lunch to come back in order to continue my volunteer work in the afternoon. I mostly focused on husbandry tasks in the mornings with educational tasks in the afternoons.
