A small group of my friends and I left the base early in the morning, each of us getting up as early as 3 am in the morning to make sure we were packed and ready to drive.

We drove to the gate and managed to get a cute hyena sighting as we entered the park. This was the start of our long 9-hour drive all the way South to the rest camp of Pretoriuskop. From there we settled into our little home for the next two nights, before leaving to head out on a sunset game drive. This drive had us finding elephants, a lot of buffle (Buffalo) and a rare African Wild Cat! Spotted by Emily of course.

We returned to camp and had a late dinner before sleeping only to get up early the next morning for a sunrise drive. This drive had a few elephant sightings and not much was awake at the time before we decided to drive around on our own. We spent the day exploring all the way to Skukuza Rest Camp, one of the largest camps in the park, before exploring a bit more. We saw lions, a barely visible leopard, and many many birds. We saw a huge Baobab tree before we ventured towards camp for the night (and barely made it past the gate close time due to a Sable and Hyena roadblock)!

The last morning had us explore the bush in the most incredible way, a walking safari where we had two guides lead us into the bush off the road. We heard many sounds and saw a few middens (rhino territory marking), and even saw an elephant in the distance as we walked. Nothing could even come close to describing the experience. It was absolutely incredible.

Next we left the camp to head back towards the reserve. While I didn't get to see any cheetahs, we did see a Leopard and got treated to an amazing sighting of an African Wild Dog before we left the park. This trip will be one I remember for a lifetime!
