Volunteering Tips

Recently, I have helped and volunteered my time to do something about a problem in my city. In Olympia, we have a Feral Cat issue, and my friend tried so hard (after seeing kittens get hit on the road, having held a cat as it died in her arms) to call out some shelters to try and Trap - Neuter - Release (TNR) some of these cats. No one was willing to come out and help. So after saving a kitten, and realizing we could do more. We stepped up to the plate. We spend three weeks getting up every hour to 2 hours feeding this weak and sick kitten, we got up every four hours to feed the other kittens. We found a litter of kittens dumped in her driveway.

What I am getting at is to be the driving force behind your experiences. Not all education will prepare you or qualify you for a job in your career. Be the one to determine what you want to grow in - take advantage of reaching out and being the one to make a change. Volunteering is key, but it doesn't have to be with an organization. It takes time, It takes effort, and it is exhausting. But it is well worth it for you to take charge and jump to the plate.

I would do anything for that kitten🥹😭. But seriously this is really awesome, and yeah I think the most important thing of all in any kind of activism or making a situation better is deciding to do something in the first place. What you're doing is awesome pal!
