Every new/early career biologist/wildlife conservationist struggles to find the best resources to find jobs. While experience is key, so is knowing where to look and how to network as well!
Conferences: One of the absolute best ways to network in my opinion - and also some of the most informational and unique learning experiences. I have attended 3 different conferences: 2 of which were so unique and special to me that I actually made my mark by connecting with biologists and well-known conservationists. I attended the first Global Leopard Conference in 2023 and helped create the website for International Leopard Day (May 3 btw)!
Instagram: Despite everything, instagram is a great resource! By following broadcast channels of other wildlife conservationists (Kayla Zoon, Jungle Doctor, Kate Sheridan) and also following Conservation Network allow you to get some great insights and resource access you may not have thought of!
Facebook Groups: Another way is through facebook groups! These groups often find facebook posts, contribute advice, and even can help you find a niche you feel like you belong. (Marine Biology Career Network, and Wildlife Science Career Network are great groups to join).
Texas A&M Natural Resources Job Board: Another amazing resource for any wildlife career specialist. Filled with early-career opportunities, internships, and even postgraduate opportunities as well. This is an easy to navigate and simple job board you will want to bookmark and use constantly.
