Essential Travel Tips for a Himalayan Adventure

The Himalayan mountain range extends far through many countries, such as India and Nepal. These mountains can be unforgettable, and oftentimes uncertain. The weather can change in an instant between sunny and snowy. So know the area you plan to visit and what the time of year will bring.

Packing Tips:
Sunscreen is a must! While it may be snowy, the sun can shine, and the higher the elevation, the higher the UV ray index. SPF 50 is recommended over SPF 30 and you will want Chapstick.
Wool Socks paired with lighter socks. Keep your feet dry and warm!
Layers, Layers, Layers! The more layers you have, the better. It can be super cold in the mornings and warm up as days go on.
Downy Jacket. Sleeveless is the best - keeps you warm and easy to remove.
Gloves. Nice wool gloves are a great way to keep your hands warm while in high altitudes.
Acclimatize! Know your limits and take your time; it won't be worth the lack of oxygen if you don't acclimatize safely. Usually, it is best to take 2 days before continuing onward.
The Himalayas are so unique and home to such incredible species, so it is worth every bit of safety and the time you take. Urial, Ibex, Snow Leopards - all these species only like such a unique environent so it is an adventure in and of itself.
